
The company enmodes GmbH required a cleanroom solution for the manufacture of innovative medical products. The challenge was to create an ISO 14644-1 Class 7 cleanroom in an existing building with a limited ceiling height of 3.1 m. The aim was to make optimal use of the available space of 100 m² and ensure rapid implementation.
In medical technology, controlled environments are essential in order to meet the high requirements for hygiene, particle-free conditions, and process reliability. The limited space in the existing building posed a particular challenge, as conventional cleanroom constructions are often only feasible to a limited extent at this height. A solution had to be found to make efficient use of the available height without compromising cleanroom quality. At the same time, a short implementation time was required in order to be able to start production quickly.

Sphairlab developed a specially adapted cleanroom solution with an area of 100 m², which was set up within just two weeks. In order to make maximum use of the available height, the cleanroom ceiling was mounted directly onto the existing ceiling. This ensured optimal airflow for the clean air without the need for additional support structures.
The cleanroom tent concept included a personnel airlock and a material airlock. The textile-based construction also ensured flexible and cost-efficient implementation, which can be easily expanded or adapted to changing production requirements as needed.

Thanks to its innovative design, enmodes was able to create a standard-compliant cleanroom environment for the manufacture of medical devices within a very short time. Direct ceiling mounting enabled maximum use of space and efficient airflow, reliably meeting the high requirements for cleanliness and particle-free air.
This project demonstrates that high-performance cleanrooms can also be created in existing buildings with low ceiling heights – pragmatically, flexibly, and efficiently with solutions from sphairlab.
