Customized cleanroom for Max Streicher: Efficiency and precision in just three days

Max Streicher GmbH & Co KGaA, a renowned specialist in high-quality manufacturing solutions, required a Class 7 cleanroom in accordance with ISO 14644-1 that would integrate seamlessly into an existing production environment. It was particularly important to find a solution that not only made optimal use of the available space, but also allowed large components such as switch cabinets to be transported with minimal or no disruption to operations. Sphairlab developed a customized cleanroom that impressed with its precise planning, quick installation, and innovative features.

Challenge: A cleanroom that integrates seamlessly into existing processes

Max Streicher GmbH & Co KGaA was looking for a cleanroom solution that met several key requirements. The available space was limited, so the cleanroom had to fit exactly into an existing niche of approximately 30 m² without requiring extensive renovation work. At the same time, it was necessary to find a solution that would allow large components to be brought in and out without compromising the cleanliness requirements of cleanroom class 7 according to ISO 14644-1. Another decisive factor was rapid implementation in order to avoid production downtime. In addition, the cleanroom had to be not only functional but also energy-efficient, as operating costs for cleanrooms are often underestimated and play a significant role in the long term.

Solution: A cleanroom that sets standards

Sphairlab designed a fully customized cleanroom that meets all the requirements of Max Streicher GmbH & Co KGaA. By using flexible textile modules, the cleanroom could be precisely adapted to the existing niche, ensuring optimal use of space. A special feature of the solution is the “open-up wall,” a special opening in the wall that makes it much easier to bring in large components such as switch cabinets. This is complemented by a custom airlock with two custom-made double portal doors that make optimal use of the maximum ceiling height, enabling the transport of bulky components.

Another advantage was the speed of installation: thanks to the prefabricated modules, the cleanroom could be set up on site in just three days. The delivery time was only eight weeks after design approval, which enabled rapid commissioning. In order to reduce operating costs in the long term, an automatic night-time temperature reduction system was also integrated to reduce energy consumption outside working hours.

The new cleanroom at Max Streicher meets all requirements and sets new standards in terms of functionality, efficiency, and flexibility. The perfect fit allows for seamless integration into the existing production environment, while the “open-up wall” and double portal doors facilitate the transport of large components. Quick installation in just three days minimized production downtime, and automatic nighttime temperature reduction helps to reduce operating costs in the long term.
