At the 39th Chaos Communication Congress (39C3), Marc-Uwe Kling presented Digital Independence Day (DID). The initiative calls on people to spend the first Sunday of every month thinking about how to replace US-dominated services with independent alternatives. It is expressly in the spirit of the campaign to use both services in parallel to facilitate the transition.
