Workshop and prototype presentation

On October 9, 2025, sphairlab took part in the “Growth Across Borders” event organized by MedLife e.V. at digitalHUB Aachen. The event served as a platform for networking among companies from the medtech and life sciences industries in the Euregio region and provided a space for knowledge exchange and innovative solutions.

Workshop: Strategies for avoiding cost explosions in cleanrooms

Our managing director, Max Lindemann, led a workshop on the topic of “Cleanroom Strategy Unlocked: Avoiding Cost Explosions for Startups, Scale-Ups & Beyond.” The focus was on practical recommendations on how young and growing companies can avoid cost traps in cleanroom planning. A key finding: Early requirements analysis and gradual scaling are crucial. Instead of investing directly in large-scale solutions that will only be needed in years to come, it is advisable to start with flexible, modular cleanrooms that can be adapted to actual needs.

Excursion: Quality assurance at GfPS

The workshop was followed by a tour of the packaging testing facility at GfPS, where participants gained insights into the quality assurance of medical devices. This underscored how closely compliance and technical implementation are linked in the medtech industry.

Presentation: Standardized cleanroom prototype in the digitalChurch

In the afternoon, we presented a functional prototype of our standardized cleanroom in the digitalChurch. The compact design illustrated how quickly, flexibly, and cost-effectively modern cleanroom solutions can be implemented. The scalability of clean rooms up to certified Class 7 to 8 clean rooms (ISO 14644-1) was met with particular interest. The positive feedback from visitors confirmed that textile, modular cleanrooms are a forward-looking solution for companies that need to grow quickly while controlling costs.

Conclusion: Networking and innovation in the Euregio

The “Growth Across Borders” event gave sphairlab the opportunity to share our expertise and make new contacts in the Euregio region. Cross-border cooperation is a key factor in advancing the medtech and life sciences industry.
